Review: Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle & Coo Doll
There are 3 settings for playing with this doll: off, motion and sound, and motion with no sound. The girls prefer the motion and sound. A sensor in the forehead detects motion, and that will start the giggling, cooing, and movements. The doll's head and arms move. My husband gets tired of hearing it after a while, but honestly, it didn't bother me at all. I think it sounds cute. Besides giggling and making noises, it says "mama" which little mommies will be happy to hear. It also blows a raspberry, which is my girls' favorite sound. The doll comes with a pacifier that is connected to the bib with a ribbon. Also included is a bottle, a rattle (toy keys) and a paper birth certificate. If you put the pacifier or bottle in the doll's mouth, it will stop moving and babbling and will make sucking noises for a little while. When you remove it from the mouth, it starts again. Note that while not small enough to be considered a choking hazard, the key ring is fairly small and may pose a problem if you have an older child with a bigger mouth that still has a tendency to put things in it. The doll comes in a variety of different colored outfits. 3 AA batteries are also included. The doll has a recommended age of 2 and up. My 6 year old absolutely loves it and even my 10 year old will play with it a little from time to time (especially when she plays with her sister), although it wouldn't be something she'd request for herself, and I think most 10 year olds would get bored with it quickly. If you have a little one that likes to play "mommy", this is a great doll that gives kids a chance to care for a baby that's sure to bring smiles to their faces.  |

My youngest 2 girls like to play with dolls. They're very good at making "baby" and "little kid" noises. My 6 year old acts like a little mommy and can often be found caring for a "baby". The Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle & Coo Doll caught her eye immediately. I couldn't get it out of the box fast enough for her, and she played with it for a few hours.

did your doll not say something? our coos and says mama and then something that sounds like " the guardian of the light". it's freaking me out!

I just saw a piece on the news about this (NYC local Fox 5 news). Some people thought it said "Islam is the light" (which might make sense if there was a mixup with dolls meant to sell in another country?), and other people thought it said something about Satan!
Someone on eToys said it's supposed to say "tickle me, mommy", "i love you, mommy", and "i'm a big girl, mommy", but when they showed it talking on the news it didn't sound like any of that. I had a hard time even hearing the weird stuff other people think it says.
Subliminal Message - Islam is the light
I saw the same news report last night and was shocked. I have two of these dolls and agree that they're very cute and can really draw little children in with the motion and sound. After hearing the doll on the news I went and got my two dolls out and turned them on and they do very clearly say Islam is the Light. When you first turn the doll on - the first two rounds the doll just coos and makes sounds like it's trying to say something - but just isn't quite getting it out - on the third round it goes through the same babble and then clear as a bell says "Islam is the Light". Then if you leave the doll on and let it play - it seems to say it clearly more frequently.
I respect the fact that different people have different belief systems - I object to the fact that this message is deliberately hidden from the consumer who may or may not hold the same belief system. If I had known that's what the doll says - I woulnd't have bought the doll. That's my choice.

My daughter got one not even
My daughter got one not even a month ago and takes it everywhere. The problem is, the doll's clothes are getting grungy. The clothes are attached to the doll, so they can't be removed and washed. My mother in law suggested putting a different outfit on her and then taking that outfit off when it needs to be washed. That solution will only work if you find an outfit with footsies, otherwise the original footsies will be dirty.

Weird Messages
It's on the news out on the west coast, too. Several local people appeared on the local news tonight and each claimed that their dolls were saying "Islam is the light" and something else that might have had something to do with Satan. When a reporter tested several different dolls, they did all seem to say "Islam is the light". That part sounded pretty clear to me (and to the reporter and two news anchors). The other thing that the dolls say is much less clear, but it *might* be something about Satan. I couldn't make out that part and the news people were undecided, though two of them agreed that they were hearing the word 'Satan'. Creepy.
I returned ours after hearing the Islamic saying
I saw the doll on the news and dug my daughters out of her toybox to listen to it. It did say "Islam is the light" in 2 different cooing noises that it makes. I did not hear anything about Satan.
As I recall, the news article said that so far the only people who are complaining about the doll are people who purchased it at Walmart. (Like myself.)
Walmart agreed to take the doll back without a receipt in exchange for something else in equal value. They took the doll off their website so that no one can make comments or purchase them I'm assuming. (One minute it was up so I posted a review on teh doll and then 10 minutes later the doll was removed.)
Anyway, I went to my local Walmart this morning with my daughters doll and went back to their toy department. They had other dolls just like this one but in the different clothes. (The same doll comes in a varity of color clothing- Pink, purple, yellow, or pink and white mix). I brought my doll to the customer service desk and showed the women there and they were kinda freaked out about it. They returned our doll no problem for the $19.99 face value of the doll and my daughter picked out another toy. I'd recommend exchanging your doll if you have one. I personally think that if the people who manufactured this doll deliberately made these dolls say it then that is just disgusting. There's nothing lower than trying to corrupt the minds of our children with bull like that.
