When I was in 7th grade, I used to play a game called "Howitzer Battle" on the Apple II. It was a turn-based game requiring you to calculate your shot angle to get the proper arc to hit your opponent. The Worms series combines that game with the arsenal of Wile E. Coyote.  read more »

If Fisher-Price ever made a Dungeons and Dragons game, it would probably look a lot like Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon. The bright-primary-colors-and-no-sharp-corners game design ensures that there is little which will offend or frighten younger gamers, but the real question is whether or not there is enough here to enthrall them.  read more »

Because Rock Band for Wii and PS2 suffers from no downloadable content, Harmonix has sought to rectify this situation by offering a series of Track Packs, including 20 songs for $30. While this is cheaper than the $2 per song you pay on the PS3 or 360, you don't get to pick the songs, which is a pretty major trade-off. Drum Covers (Wii)

I love Guitar Hero, but my biggest complaint about it is the click of the strum bar. Some people like the auditory feedback, but for me, it detracts from hearing the music, and the game is all about the music. So although many people don't like the Rock Band guitar, I love the fact that it's quiet so I can hear the music coming from the TV, or at least I can until the drums start tapping.  read more »
